Gangkhar Wins Technology Enabler Category at Latin America's 2026 AIP Awards

An independently audited jury of 23 industry experts selected the company's agentic insurance platform from more than 60 entries across the region.

MEXICO CITY, MEXICO, September 21, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Gangkhar, the AI-native operating system for modern protection, has won the Technology Enabler category (Habilitador Tecnológico) at the 2026 AIP Awards, the regional awards of the Alianza Insurtech Panamericana (AIP). The award was presented on 17 September in Mexico City, at the Mexico Insurtech Summit organized by the Asociación Insurtech México.

Santiago Paradela, Head of Mexico at Gangkhar, received the award on the company's behalf.

The jury cited Gangkhar “for its technology applied to solving concrete challenges in the insurance industry with greater efficiency and scalability.”

Now in its third edition, the AIP Awards drew more than 60 entries from across Latin America, with 18 finalists attending the ceremony. Winners were selected by a jury of 23 industry experts from several countries, drawn from both the established insurance market and the insurtech ecosystem, in a process audited by international law firm Dentons. Gangkhar was shortlisted in three of the six categories.

What the category rewards

Insurance is one of the few industries where serving a larger book still costs proportionally more. Growth in premium has meant growth in headcount, and decades of digitization have not broken that link: the average property and casualty expense ratio has held between 27% and 32% since 2005, according to McKinsey research published in July 2026.

Gangkhar's platform wraps around the systems a carrier already runs, without replacing the policy administration or billing core. Sherpa+ configures the product itself: coverages, business rules, distribution logic, payment rails and settlement. The AIP Awards were created to give visibility to projects capable of transforming the insurance industry in Latin America. This year's winners also received prizes intended to extend their reach through 2027, among them exhibition space at ITC Vegas 2027 and eila2027.

Gangkhar was recognized alongside winners in five further categories: Duppla (New Business Model), MetLife Xcelerator (Insurance Distribution), PAX (Re/Insurer or Assistance Company in Transformation), Inmedical (Social and/or Environmental Impact) and Klimber (Insurtech of the Year).
